Well done Brooke with your persuasive speech plan. I like the reasons you have created to explain why dogs are a great pet. You could also add they are known as 'Man's best friend'. As you would know, dogs are very loyal and helpful. There are so many jobs they help people with like guide dogs for the blind. They even help rehabilitate war veterans, who cannot communicate with others, but can with dogs. There is even a programme that helps criminals in prison to change their ways. They do the training of the dogs and benefit from the company until they are given to a person in need.
I agree with Miss H, Brooke. You gave great reason why a dog is "Man's best friend". Although you did not say your speech, I think that by the actions taken by your mum, you have successfully persuaded your family into getting a dog! :)
